In the quest to find new ways to make money with your website or blog, there is an unlimited array of advertising programs and affiliate marketing programs to consider. One program that has been gaining some ground as of late is Chitika. What exactly is Chitika and can it help you earn more money online?

Chitika is a program that webmasters and bloggers can use to display more advertisements on their sites. It has many similarities to the Google Adsense program, but is actually quite different in some important ways. Google Adsense displays advertisements on your site related to your content at all times. In other words, you place an advertising block someplace on your site and then that ad is always there, albeit with changing text, picture and video displays.

Chitika however is a search based advertising program. That means that the Chitika ads on your website are only displayed when somebody comes to your site via the search engines. The ad unit doesn’t just display the text ads like Adsense would, but instead provides an interactive display that encourages high click-through rates. In the above example, the Chitika ad would say “Searching for vintage car engine parts?” at the top of the ad, highlighting the keywords that were used and then emboldening the keywords in the corresponding ads that are displayed below.

When somebody doesn’t enter your site via a search, the Chitika ad never appears. It doesn’t occupy or waste any space, but rather is completely invisible, which helps you to continue providing a quality user experience for all of your traffic

Chitika also stresses that the program can be used together with Google Adsense without violating either company’s policies. This is important because Google can be sticklers on what they do and do not allow. Fortunately, Chitika can be successfully integrated with this and many other affiliate or advertising programs to help you produce results.

Overall, the Chitika advertising program is a strong way to help monetize your website or blog. It’s easy to set up and get started with, and it has a high click-through rate that ensures you make the most out of your traffic. The downside is that you need to receive a good deal of traffic from the search engines in order to capitalize on the system and unlike with Adsense, there is no way to gauge how much you should be earning per click based on your market or niche.

For websites or blogs receiving a healthy dose of search engine traffic, I would recommend giving Chitika a try. In my results so far, it has done nothing to reduce my earnings through other systems and has instead provided a nice bonus, particularly on outlets that were struggling to produce cash before.
