This is a quote from renowned boxing author Hugh McIlvanney, describing the unfortunate death of 24 year old boxer Johnny Owen in 1980. Owen was brutally beaten by champion Lupe Pintor and he died six weeks later. Boxing is my passion – watching it, writing about it and training in it – and this quote is a favorite. Taken in any context, it makes a powerful statement. I thought it was an apt way at describing what I do, while at the same time sharing this great quote with the world.

Where else do I write?

I’ve written for many different outlets over the last several years and I run a variety of different niche websites on a wide range of topics. In addition, here are a few of the public places where I ply my trade:
